Tell me what you want to hear. Something that'll light those ears. Sick of all the insincere. So I'm gonna give all my secrets away. This time, don't need another perfect lie. Don't care if critics ever jump in line. I'm gonna give all my secrets away. - OneRepublic
My new favorite song. Obsessed with it. I heard it on the plane ride to Scottsdale and I could NOT get it out of me head.
Speaking of Scottsdale, I came back from Spring Training on Monday<3
BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I swear, I've been having separation anxiety attacks all week.
We arrived Thursday night and stayed in a motel for the first night. Not that bad. My whole family stayed up till two in the morning watching NCAA Tournament highlights and coverage and then we totally crashed. Ahh, the joys of March Madness. Next morning we were EXHAUSTED. They had a little breakfast bar at the motel but we headed out of there first chance we got. Then we checked into the hotel we would stay at for the next few days. It had parrots in the lobby. Their names were Marvin and Kylie.
I hate waiting around while we check into hotels so I poked at the parrots for a bit, went into the gift shop (there was this magnet that said 'My friend went to Arizona and all they got me was this lame magnet' and I almost got it), then I sat down and watched college basketball which was RUDELY INTERRUPTED by President Obama telling us we were invading Lybia.
Anyway, we went to our room and then headed to Scottsdale Stadium to watch the Giants play :)
I was so excited. The stadium is so cute and little, by the second game I already felt at home. I bought six $30 shirts and a hat.
It's fricken HOT in Arizona. My god, while I was getting sunburned (apparently my epidermis refuses to tan), the Bay Area was getting tornado warnings? My friend texted me Saturday and was like 'OMG, we're getting tornado warnings here.'
Uh, yeah right. California? Tornadoes? Are you kidding me? California is like the most non-natural-disaster-prone area ever. NOTHING exciting EVER happens here. All it does is rain. The temperature goes up and down a few degrees and then there's your occasional (but very rare) earthquake.
Anyway, the temperature zones in Arizona? "Freaking Hot", "Super Freaking Hot", "Hotter than the Sun Freaking Hot", "Hotter than Hell Freaking Hot", and "Holy Crap, it's Freaking Hot."
But it's a dry heat ;)
That's like their slogan. "But it's a dry heat."
Every single tourist T-shirt had something like that.
The Giants played the Douchers, scuse me, DODGERS, and Juan Uribe *coughTAITORcough* went out and gave Aubrey Huff a big hug. It was so cute.
The Machine made an appearance. Haha, ohh.
Anyway, Friday night my family went to this cowboy rodeo diner with actual mechanical BULL RIDING. My brother did it and lasted like five, six seconds? And once again, I was watching March Madness since our table was RIGHT in front of a huge T.V. For dessert my mom ordered this "Candy Carnival Special"? It had a huge thing of cotton candy, brownie, ice cream, strawberries, and whip cream.
I freaked out about the strawberries because I LOVE STRAWBERRIES AND WHIPPED CREAM.
So I ate all the strawberries and got NO BROWNIE OR ICE CREAM.
But the cotton candy was pretty good.
Anyway, Next day, Saturday, we woke up late and went straight to the game. The Giants played the Kansas City Royals and won. Every other inning they got a solo home run. First by Cody Ross, then Buster Posey, then Aubrey Huff... And Zito was pitching. Him and his socks<3
We were right behind the dugout and Tim Lincecum's head popped up and I was totally transfixed. I think I missed at least two innings just staring at the back of it. I mean it was RIGHT THERE.
And Brian Wilson needs to trim his beard. It's not even a beard anymore IT'S A CREATURE.
Saturday was also the day we went to have dinner on the field with the Giants. (It was part of the package). It was amazing. I was walking through the hall thing between the game field and the practice field and MARK DeROSA was having a little batting practice session. I was like "Oh my gosh.." and then "OH MY GOSH!!! HI!"
He was like "Hey there," but on the inside he was probably like "Okay weirdo, just get away from me."
Anyway, Cody Ross, Pat Burrell, Pablo Sandoval, and Andres Torres, came and did an interview thing and then I got their autographs on my hat. I wanted to cry of happiness. And I got a picture with Andres Torres!!! He's the nicest Giant in my opinion. Then I played long toss with my brother on the field with a ball he got Cody Ross to sign.
So so happy.
We went to The Sugar Bowl for dessert. Yummy ice cream.
I really have no more super interesting Spring Training stories. But it was the BEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE.
I'm trying to get tickets to the Giants game where they present the Rookie of the Year award to Buster Posey.. And I've already got tickets to some other game.
I hate school. I want it to be summer. Summer means no school. Sigh...
Pictures later haha, I'm laaazzzyyyy.
